This is a stencil of Meiji from errant story. I did a cutout filter on a picture of my friend, changed the eyes and mouth, and loosely followed the rest of the form.
This is the best use of suggestion in stenciling that I have done yet. The shirt is suggested by only some lines, the hand, legs, elbow, neck, and some of the hair are only suggested by the beams from the ball of light, and the ear is suggested by the hair.
I could have made the background hand look more normal, but I wanted to keep it a fist, and didn't want to keep messing with it.
wow. O_o your style is super unique...i've never seen anything like it (not that i am all that well versed lol) it's makes for wonderful details which arent weighed down so the overall effect is really light and beautiful even with such heavy contrast colors like black and white...i totally dig this. and that...would you call it a rising sun? is really beautiful too. <3
I've just now figured out (I think) the pen tool in photoshop. The little beamy magic ball, her hair, and some other stuff was done with this. It's sort of a path tool. All I know for sure, is that I've never made such crisp lines using a mouse so easily before.
Also, in case it was unclear, this is a screenprinting stencil, for putting on t-shirts, walls, or anything really.
yes yes screenprinting! that's what interests me! this looks so easy to print and cut out to make stencils. i am always doing them by hand for my husbands skate boards and for my t shirts...
LOL and that pen thing sounds familiar... is it the one that links lines ends automatically? i dont know its logic so i have a hard time to control it i think (if that's the one you mean!)
that's so cool i simply must learn this @__@...
also you make it sound like you put stencils on walls quite a lot! LOL
I learned from the lengthy description here :[link]
However, just make 3 or more points to make a shape, then click your first point (your cursor will have a little 0 next to it) to close the path. Click control on one of your lines to move a point, alt-click to make bends, go to the select tool to move and free transform the pen shape.
But mostly, it's getting used to the crazy thing.
oh wow O_O you're the best...i've got to go try this! <3!
wish me luck!
a LOT of luck!
about screenprint i actually never have O_O only spraypainted and fabric painted through a stencil so i am so ready for the next step and have been stopped several times from buying equipment yet because it's not in my 'budget' or something yet lol <3
When did it suddenly become cool to hate everything? It's a growing problem, especially in the entertainment world, and no one benefits from an increasingly hard to please, pessimistic audience.
A Special Collection of photographs i found this month that still haunts my mind. Show them some love There are always some i can`t include due to space, i try to make the features under 50 deviations to give them better exposure
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
